Geography

United States and Europe

Challenge

A European-based manufacturer of fixtures and integrator of robotic lines and cells for automotive, assembly, and heavy-industrial manufacturing looked to establish operations in the United States. The client had limited activity in the market for a number of years, but growth was limited. The client needed to know how to establish a US subsidiary, while at the same time, engaging immediately with customers.

Solution

The EMW team conducted a detailed feasibility study focusing on considerations for success in the industry and for a new entry. The team performed thorough desktop research and performed multiple detailed interviews with various end-users, industry, legal, financial, and insurative experts to compile a comprehensive report. Following this, a 3-year business plan was drafted and all aspects of US subsidiary formation carried out.

At the same time, North American business was developed through direct outreach and attendance of multiple US based industry relevant trade shows.

Result

A comprehensive, actionable business plan, fully-implemented US subsidiary, and several first customer contracts. The client contracted EMW for the continued phases of active business development to engage with customer stakeholders and decision makers across the automotive, assembly, and heavy-industrial verticals, and is proactively developing sales opportunities alongside the EMW team.
